This ordinance specifies the following amendments:

  • It rewords Articles 3, 7, 11, 13, 16, 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33
  • Modeling clay has been removed from the scope of school supplies
  • Annex I ‒ adjustments to the Technical Quality Regulation for Toys, established by the Annex I of Inmetro Ordinance nº 563, of 2016
  • Annex II ‒ adjustments and clarifications for the Conformity Assessment Requirements for Toys, established by Annex II of Ordinance Inmetro nº 563, of 2016
  • Annex III ‒ adjustments and clarifications for the Conformity Assessment Requirements for Toys, established by Annex III of Ordinance Inmetro nº 563, of 2016

The new ordinance aims to improve requirements and tests for toys, and to reduce the number of samples used. This will impact the production sector with the possibility of reducing costs in the certification process.

This ordinance amends parts of the Technical Regulation on Quality and the Requirements for Conformity Assessment published by Portaria Inmetro nº 563, 2016, and in the Requirements for Conformity Assessment published by Portaria Inmetro nº 481, 2010.
