Determination of Total Cadmium in Surface Coating Materials in Consumer Products by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES)

This method describes a general procedure for the determination of the total cadmium content in surface coating materials by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES) as applicable under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act S.C. 2010, c.21 and Surface Coating Regulation (SOR 2016-193), Toy Regulation (SOR 2011–17) and Children’s Jewelry Regulations (SOR 2018–82).
