On May 16th, 2019, China has published the implementation measures for conformity assessment system for the Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products, otherwise known as RoHS2.

These rules have been formulated to limit the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products, reduce environmental pollution caused by discarded products and increase green product supply to promote green consumption.

The conformity assessment system includes the voluntary certification of the restricted use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products. It introduces a self-declaration process which contains the provisions of the product to meet the requirements for the limit of harmful substances and related technical support documents including:

  • The name and contact information of the supplier;
  • Electrical and electronic product name, specification model, technical support document number, and technical support file type;
  • Commitment to the truthfulness, completeness, and consistency of the contents of the statement and related declaration materials;
  • Additional information, including the signature of the authorized person, company seal, etc.

The product using the national voluntary certification is used as the conformity assessment mark. The new logos can be used on packages, product manuals, and online marketing.
