On December 27, 2017 the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit ordered the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to complete drafting new rules for the Residential Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act of 1992 within 90 days. The Court ordered Final Rules to be issued within one year of issuance of the draft Rules. The Order creates a schedule for development of new Rules that EPA originally committed to develop in 2009, but has been delayed for various reasons.
