Denmark’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has found that twelve (12) types of the foam figures or the so-called squishies contain harmful substances in high concentrations.

These high concentrations could pose a risk if children play with them for a long time.

EPA recommends to withdraw the products from the market and dispose them as household waste.

The study of the toy was launched in March because squishies often smell chemical and perfumed. The 12 products examined are illegal to sell in Denmark and the rest of the EU. Toys dealers must immediately remove the illegal toy from the shelves.

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency’s Chemical Inspectorate will now take the necessary steps to remove the specific products from the market.
