Hungary’s Government Legislation has issued Government Decree No 374⁄2012 on the Limitation of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (125/2018. (VII.10.)).
This regulation amends and adds points to the RoHS Regulation (Government Decree 374⁄2012 on the limitation of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. (XII.18.)).
This regulation amends and adopts Annex III to 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2011 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment specifically:
- the use of cadmium and lead for use in glass filters and glass used for the requirements of the reflection factor
- exemption of lead in the bearing cups and linings of compressors with individual refrigerant compressors for the purpose of adaptation to technical progress.
- exemption from lead in white vials used for optical applications for adaptation to technical progress
- exemption for cadmium used in the display system for converting light-emitting diodes (LEDs)
The decree was enforced on July 27, 2018.
