Iceland’s Ministry of the Interior has released Regulation amending Regulation No. 944/2014, on the safety of toys and their marketing in the European Economic Area (1008/2018).

The amendments to Regulation No. 44/2014 comprises of the following changes in the Appendices:

  • Lead entry in the table in Part 13: 23 ppm (Category III) 0.5 ppm (Category II) 2.0 ppm (Category I)
  • Bisphenol A in the table in Appendix C to II: 0.04 ppm according to the procedures laid down in EN 7110: 2005 and EN 71–11: 2005
  • Phenol in Appendix C to II: 5 ppm in polymeric materials in accordance with the procedures laid down in EN 71–10: 2005 and EN 71–11: 2005. 10 ppm (content limit) as a preservative in accordance with the procedures laid down in EN 71–10: 2005 and EN 71–11: 2005

This Regulation was enforced on November 1, 2018.
