The Italian’s Ministry of Health has released a Decree on the Internal market control procedure for cosmetic products.
This Decree specifies how to apply some of the requirements contained in some articles of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009, requires notification of the manufacturing sites of cosmetic products, specifies the general procedures for the surveillance/monitoring of cosmetic products and economic operators involved in the whole production process of cosmetic products.
This Decree also specifies certain labeling requirements (requirements of elements to be indicated in Italian languages as well as how to label cosmetic products that are not pre-packaged, are packaged at the point of sale at the purchaser’s request or are pre-packaged for immediate sale) and explicitly requires the necessity of fulfilling GMP in all parts of manufacturing process of cosmetic products.
This Order will apply beginning December 23, 2018.
