On July 27, 2018, the Ministry of Public Health of Lebanon has enforced Minister Decision No. 1424 regarding the implementation to apply 2D Barcode Matrix to Drugs.
This decision states a temporary solution for the pharmaceutical manufacturers that are unable to make it to the deadline of the implementation of the 2D barcode Minister decision no. 2405⁄1.
As a temporary solution, all pharmaceutical factories and pharmaceutical institutions that are unable to comply with the application from January 2019 are required to place labels on the relevant pharmaceutical packages bearing the two-dimensional barcode according to the requirements mentioned in Minister Decision No. 2405⁄1 during the transitional period to avoid delays in the application of the minister decision.
This minister decision is related to the Principal Minister Decision No. 2405⁄1 on the Adoption of 2D matrix Barcode.
This Decision will be enforced on January 1, 2019.
