New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has passed Bill No. 135–3 Food Safety Law Reform on February 22, 2018.
The Bill amends the Animal Products Act 1999, Food Act 2014, and Wine Act 2003 to strengthen government’s responses to food safety incidents, create a more consistent and fair approach to enforcement for non-compliance, and improve the Government’s accessibility to information from third-parties.
A Royal Assent was given to the bill on March 1, 2018.
