Testing

On January 15th, 2020, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has implemented the SABER System to the following products:

  • Shoes and Leather
  • Paper and Related Products
  • Games and Entertainment Devices Cities (Theme Park)
  • Costume Decorations and Accessories
  • Doors and Windows
  • Packaging
  • Food Safety Tools and Devices Used in the Kitchen
  • Materials and Adhesive Tapes and Glue and Related Products
  • Electrical Vehicles
  • Devices Telecommunications
  • Devices and Equipment that works by pressing and accessories
  • Fireworks
  • Electrical Batteries
  • Building Materials — Part V: Pipes Used in the Extensions of Networks of Water, Electricity and Gas
  • Equipment and Fire — Fighting
  • Safety in Machines
  • Tires
  • Electronic Devices Used in Electronic Smoking
  • Bicycle Mechanism

For these products, the required Certificate of Conformity and Certificate of Shipment Conformity must only be processed using the new online SABER platform starting from February 15th, or shipments will not be able to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia market.

SABER is an online platform where manufacturers can obtain the Product & Shipment Certificates of Conformity for consumer goods to enter the Saudi market. The system was established to facilitate the new Saudi Product Safety Program named as “SALEEM”.
