On September 27, 2018, Slovenia’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food has enforced the Regulation on Extraction Solvents Used in the Production of Foodstuffs and Food Ingredients.

This Regulation conforms with the requirements set forth in Commission Directive Amending Directive 2009/32/EC Relating to Extraction Solvents Used in the Production of Foodstuffs and Food Ingredients (Directive 20161855) and subsequently amends Annex 2, adding certain limit to collagen and its derivatives other than gelatin.

This Regulation amends Annex 2 to include Dimethyl ether and the following:

  • Preparation of degraded animal protein products, including gelatin — 0.009 ppm in degraded animal protein products, including gelatin
  • Preparation of collagen and collagen derivatives, except gelatin — 3 ppm in collagen and derivatives of collagen other than gelatin.

This Regulation adopts the requirements set forth in Commission Directive Amending Directive 2009/32/EC Relating to Extraction Solvents Used in the Production of Foodstuffs and Food Ingredients (Directive 20161855).
