South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has updated the Korean Pharmacopoeia (KP 11) on September 6, 2018.

This notification establishes the 11th edition of Korean Pharmacopoeia. The Korean Pharmacopoeia includes general rule, general requirements, standards/monographs, processes, and apparatus and test methods.

The latest edition includes the following:

  • Revision of test methods for 28 active ingredients
  • Addition of test method for turbidity and general information on polymorphism

This notification aims to provide safe and efficacious pharmaceuticals of assured quality by prescribing the preparation, properties, performance, quality and storage of pharmaceuticals used for treatment and prevention of diseases.
