The Ministry of Economy of Turkey has released Product Safety and Supervision: 201818 Importer Control Requirements for Footwear.

This notice specifies that footwear and parts of footwear as listed in Annex 1 containing phthalates, dioctyltin (DOT) and chromium (VI) shall not pose risk to human health.

The notice also states that importers shall bear the responsibility to ensure product safety even test reports are not required under Turkey’s Risk Based Control System for Foreign Trade (TAREKS).

This notice was released under Official Gazette 30286 (2nd Repetition) and was enforced on January 1, 2018.
