The U.S. Food and Drug Administration seeks comments on the Use of the Names of Dairy Food in the Labeling of Plant-Based Products under 83 FR 49103 on September 28, 2018.

This notice aims to provide a certain labeling approach on plant-based products that consumers can substitute for dairy foods.

The FDA is interested in learning how consumers use these plant-based products and how they understand terms such as, for example, “milk” or “yogurt” when included in the labeling of plant-based products.

FDA will be accepting comments until November 27, 2018.
