ServicesAdvisory and Education
UL Consumer & Retail Services (CRS) is accredited by the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Foundation to be their official training provider for the textile and footwear industry.
This official training covers five main topics:
- Introduction to chemical management;
- Chemical hazards and risk assessment;
- ZDHC MRSL (Manufacturing Restricted Substances List) and best practices for Safety Data Sheets (SDS);
- Chemical storage and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) selection;
- Environmental impact and mitigation.
Our training services related to ZDHC will also cover additional topics in the next future.
In order to support the textile, apparel and footwear manufacturers in the most valuable way, UL CRS experts will conduct these sessions in the respective local languages with relevant and practical examples to help these manufacturers with challenges related to chemicals management.
Elisa Gavazza, UL CRS Global Lead for Chemical Management, says: “We started our collaboration with ZDHC as Contributor since April 2017 and we are becoming more engaged in supporting this foundation’s commitment to minimize the textile industry impact on the environment and to help improve sustainability. We have recently been provisionally accepted by ZDHC for wastewater and sludge analysis about the ZDHC Gateway – Wastewater Module. And now, we can support brands and their suppliers with ZDHC official trainings offering a complete portfolio of services”
Participants will be able to review ZDHC’s training calendar via the ZDHC Academy Tool and register to UL CRS trainings by contacting the local UL team.
