The U.S. Department of Labor has released its annual report on child labor. Produced by the Department’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs, the Report focuses on the worst forms of child labor in each country, and efforts to eliminate these practices through legislation, enforcement mechanisms, policies, and social programs.
The Department of Labor has also created an app to support the efforts of companies to address forced and child labor within their supply chains. Named Comply Chain, the app is designed for all companies, whether they already have a program addressing labor practices in place, or are working towards one. It is hoped that Comply Chain will help to develop and improve social compliance systems to address forced and child labor.
