US Lawmakers and advocates have expressed their intent to strictly ban slave-made goods after knowing that more than $140 billion worth of slave-made goods are still entering the market each year.

U.S. House Representative Ron Kind, along with eight lawmakers, wrote to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) voicing their concern over its failure to use the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act (TFTEA) to eliminate these goods.

The lawmakers expect that CBP will take immediate steps to increase enforcement of the ban.
