Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has adopted the amendment made under Circular No. 20/2018/TT-BCT on August 15, 2018.

This Circular entails an amendment in Annex 1 on the list of textile products subject to the safety requirements with the national technical regulation on the contents of formaldehyde and aromatic amines derived from azo colorants. The amendment removes HS code 9619: “Sanitary towels, napkins and napkin liners for babies and similar articles, of any material” from the list of textile products subject to the limit of formaldehyde content under QCVN 01:2017/BCT.

The amendment will become effective starting on January 1, 2019.
