The State of Washington Department of Ecology has added 20 chemicals and removed three others, from the list of substances reportable under Washington: Chapter 173–334 WAC Children’s Safe Products Reporting Rule.

The department’s final decision was published on September 29th, and significantly expands the Chemicals of High Concern to Children (CHCC) list of 66 substances.

This regulation requires manufacturers to annually report on January 31st to the State of Washington Department of Ecology if identified CHCCs are present in children’s products, and sold in the State of Washington.

This rule will be effective on October 30th, 2017.
